Wheels can be built using a rim with a machined sidewall.
The Deep V has definitely been around the block a few times.
It's one of the strongest rims out there, it has earned its keep and is still our top selling rim.

Our track hubs accept a fixed gear on one side and a freewheel on the other, and come with a lock ring.
We offer a variety of options in our track wheel line, still each wheel is built with 14g stainless
steel spokes and silver brass nipples laced to our 32, or 36 hole track hub.
Everything else is up to you. Our track wheels come standard with non-machined rims.
You now have a couple different options as far as hubs, including a gold solid flange cro-mo hollow axle hub.
